General Discussion:: A MUST WATCH
First off, the guy above me is an a** who clearly doesn't care about the quality of games. The COD series is just reskinned and presented as a new game the next year as a means of making as much money as they can off idiots like him. COD has failed year after year to bring anything new to the table, including graphically, they narrowed the field of view in Modern Warfare 3 so they could have slightly better graphics. It's time people started caring about the quality of games again, because developers, mainly COD and movie-licensed game developers have clearly stopped caring about quality and are trying to squeeze as much money as they can from the same concept.

Games that have quality:
Arkham Asylum
Arkham City
Assassin's Creed
Skyrim
Borderlands
L.A. Noire
Red Dead Redemption
Portal 2
Magicka
Civ V

These are games that have improved gameplay and quality as their series has progressed or started out with it in the first place. (i.e. for Magicka the DLC is mostly quality stuff, not mostly money grabs, and it is reasonably priced). Somebody who actually cares about a game and its storyline, gameplay and graphics needs to start working for the aforementioned studios, because eventually people will get tired of it. I absolutely love Warner Brothers for doing Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, instead of movie-licensed games because the gameplay and graphics are excellent and the stories are both unique and in-depth. (Arkham City was my favorite game of 2011, if you want a game with quality get that). I always get so much hate for not liking COD, but I don't care, I'm not into mindless games like the rest of them. Done my rant. (I'm 18 btw, how old are you? just so I can judge about how many years you've been gaming)

General Discussion:: Thought you guys might be interested.
So I have been contemplating making one of these for awhile, and since I am about to get my power bill I figure now is the time to start so I can see exactly WHAT portion of my bill I can attribute to my Volt. When I initially made the sheet I did not include a gas column, but I got to thinking about you guys so I added one. Now I will put the forumlas here, AND the sheet. I know viruses can be spread so excel so I do not blame people if they don't want to download it. Either way it autocalculates out to 1000 (so basically 3 years of everyday usage), and automatically figures out you overall cost for both electric and gas. Obviously you guys can feel free to rename it to PiP tracker.. I am just going to upload my excel sheet for you guys to mod as you please.

All you need to do is create a spread sheet, and copy/paste the forumulas into the column letter to get the formula's activated. Just label the columns as I did, or change your start column (in my case it is 3 in all the forumulas) and the end column (1000 on mine).. Apparently the numbers seperated by colons apply the entire operation on every cell in the range in that column.. Pretty neat I think. Is what has taken me so long to make it. Cause till tonight I did not know how.

General Discussion:: Best old games of all time
I wanted to comment on this as I am passionate about games. My own personal favourite game of all time is Fallout 3 however, I do not think it's objectively the best game ever made. Also, there are old games that are very National specific Manic Miner or Elite for example. Lets though, go global. Here are what I think ten contenders.

Final Fantasy VII (Game changing)
World of Warcraft (The numbers cannot lie)
GTA - San Andreas (Well... What can you say)
Civilization (For me, Civ II)
Super Mario Bros (I'll just stop doing these bracket things now)
Pong
Pac-Man
The Sims
Facade
Tetris

There are so many you could go all day Street Fighter II, Fifa 12, Half-Life, Halo, Simcity, Skyrim, Black & White, need I say more. Now in all honesty, I would want to put Tetris at one however, there is one game that I think really is the best. Cause ultimately, it comes down to play-ability, it is after all. A game Here we go... And it's controversial... I would say...

WII Sports. There is a reason it has sold millions upon millions of copies. It was innovative, simple, fun, all you could want from a game, and the truth is... As much as I may love MW3, Fifa 12, Skyrim, and SWTOR (the games I am playing at the moment). My 80 year old granny and my 5 year old sister would struggle with MW3 and Skyrim. They can however, play Wii Bowling with me

Same battle as COL Longgrear.

http://www.military.com/news/article/ ... -coming-home.html?wh=news

Green Beret Finally Coming Home
February 22, 2011
Contra Costa Times

BRIERFIELD, Ala. -- There's a spot marked in a small country graveyard near here for the long lost Green Beret.

Now, after 43 years of uncertainty, the grave in Ashby Cemetery can be filled.

Burial for James Moreland -- missing in action in Vietnam since Feb. 7, 1968 -- will be May 14 in this isolated cemetery off Bibb County Road 2, south of Montevallo, Ala.

The burial across the country will close a chapter for the Walnut Creek woman who wore a bracelet with Moreland's name, never knowing him, for most of her life. For Moreland's family, it is a long overdue homecoming.

Moreland was born in Bessemer, Ala., on Sept. 29, 1945, moved to California in high school and in 1965, went to Vietnam as a medic in the elite Army Special Forces.

The 22-year-old was presumed dead after a ferocious battle at Lang Vei in South Vietnam. But his body wasn't recovered or identified. Finding the body and securing an ID turned into a decades-long quest until last month, when DNA earlier submitted by five relatives matched remains found at Lang Vei.

"It was very emotional coming up on the 43rd anniversary," said Linda Brown, 62, the youngest of the five Moreland siblings. The family had all come to accept James was dead, but they persisted on finding his body, Brown said.

"I had never given up," said Brown, who lives in Washington state near sister Edna Anita LaMoine, 73. "I said I wouldn't care if they identified just one bone fragment so we could say, 'Yes, it is our brother.' "

Unknown to the Moreland family at the time, a Christmas Day gift in 1972 to a 12-year-old girl added one more person to the long pursuit for answers. Kathy Strong, of Walnut Creek, remembers asking for an MIA bracelet because it was the cool thing to have at the time. Santa Claus brought a bracelet with the name: James Leslie Moreland.

Strong, profiled in articles in the Bay Area News Group, plans to attend the upcoming burial in Alabama, where she said she will relinquish her bracelet to be buried with the remains.

"My promise was to keep it until he came home and then give it back," said Strong, now 50.

Moreland's commanding officer, Paul Longgrear, an ordained minister, will officiate the service.

Longgrear led a strike force unit, which included Moreland, to help defend a Special Forces camp near the Laotian border. The camp was a "thorn in the side of the North Vietnamese," Longgrear said, and on Feb. 6, 1968, it came under heavy attack from enemy tanks. He said he remembered Moreland being seriously wounded in the head as he went to fetch a machine gun in an open area, aiming to keep it out of enemy hands. In the ensuing explosions and subsequent takeover, some men escaped, some were captured, some were killed. Moreland's body was never recovered.

"He was a great guy -- a great-looking kid with a lot of confidence," said Longgrear, who lives in Pine Mountain, Ga. "He had that swagger. Green Berets tend to be that way."

Moreland's early childhood years were spent in the Birmingham area and in Selma, Ala., his sisters said. He went to Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, Ala., in the eighth and ninth grades. The family moved to Southern California in 1962, and Moreland became an all-county football player at Western High School in Anaheim, playing on the same team as Andy Messersmith, who went on to become a Major League Baseball player. After graduation, Moreland attended Fullerton Junior College but ultimately followed his two older brothers' footsteps into the military, albeit a different branch.

"I tried my best to get him to come to the Navy," chuckled retired Navy Seabee and older brother Robert D. Moreland, 75, of Lakeside. "But he liked to sky-dive."

When on June 5, 1978, the Army declared Moreland "presumed dead," his mother, Gladys Parks, organized a memorial service for him at Ashby Cemetery and dedicated a large granite marker in her son's memory. They played "Ballad of the Green Beret" and tears flowed, Brown remembered.

Moreland's mother died April 1, 2001, but she talked to The Birmingham News in 1978 about the memorial.

"I just felt this memorial was one way I can honor him," she said. "But to me he's not dead. If they could have ever found some trace of him to give me, some little something to prove they found him, I could accept it. "... Maybe someday I will."

Dorothy Moreland, 81, of Montevallo, who is the widow of the oldest Moreland sibling, Roger, said it is sad Parks won't see this day. But there's some comfort to be taken, she supposes, in the burial arrangement putting Moreland next to the graves of his mother and father.

When they lay him to rest, "brother'll be back home between Mommy and Daddy," she said.
